THATS RIGHT FOLKS! YOU READ IT HERE FIRST! We have a 7 pound meatball that’s two weeks shy of his original due date. We thought seeing that weight on the scale would be impossible for Jack, but it’s here and it’s oh so squeezable.

14 weeks (38 weeks gestational) Update

weight: 3,180 (7 lb 0 oz)| height: 19.75 inches

Happy 14th Week Mr. Jack! You’ve come so far from your 1 pound start. We still forget that Mommy should have been pregnant with you for two more weeks at this point. You were born so early and so much time has passed and just so you know- you’ve proved to us all that you can do this! We are all watching you unfold day by day, week by week and it’s not often we get to catch a miracle in the making but we sure feel like we are. Thank you for fighting every damn day.

Its a new month and ironically today is ground hogs day. Feels like a bit of ground hogs day these past weeks with progress but even though we haven’t seen big jumps we know Jack is developing and doing what he needs to do.  Unfortunately, the eye doctor did see some more Plus disease develop from the laser treatment last month and will come back later this week to examine him again and if he still doesn’t like what he sees he will do another laser eye treatment this Friday.  Cue Mommy having another solid cry smack in the middle of the nursery.  They never said this journey would be easy!  On the bright side – we have some celebrating right on the horizon — 100 days in the NICU, Superbowl Sunday, and Valentine’s Day/Due Date Day.  More to come on those in future posts.  Until then, enjoy the double chins and cheeks below from week 14!
