Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.

There is a constant stream of machines working to keep all these little lives pumping across the nursery.  It’s unnerving and a noise that haunts us after we leave the hospital.

We can cradle Jack today, by the feet and head.  No stroking or light touching because that will upset him as he should still be inside the womb and not being caressed.  We can only stare at him through a plastic isolette. It’s agony.
